Compare MAP before and after Approve

In this exercise we will see differences when changing Status on topics and MAPs.

  1. Select your MAP called 'My first MAP' and print it again. Keep the PDF window open for the following steps.

  2. Go back to Kentucky, make sure your MAP is still selected. Select the Edit menu and then Approved.

  3. Select your topic called 'My first topic'. Select the Edit menu and then Approved.

  4. Print your MAP and watch the PDF. Note that nothing has changed .. This is because you selected the IE level of the map and not a specific version. In this state only a manual filter is considered and we have not set any yet.

  5. Print your MAP and watch the PDF. Note that nothing has changed .. This is because you selected the IE level of the map and not a specific version. In this state only a manual filter is considered and we have not set any yet.

  6. Now select version 1.0 of your MAP and print again. Now only your first topic should be included. This is because when an IE version is printed, all settings will be considered which is set on your MAP. Since your MAP has status Approved, all included topics and segments must also be Approved (or with higher status). We changed status on first topic to Approved, but not on second topic.
